Dear friends,

I hope this note finds you cool! What a hot summer it has been! We hope to see you at our upcoming concert on August 24 at The Barley House at Moontown Crossing! We will have cocktail hour beginning at 6:30pm and music beginning at 7:30pm.

This concert will feature MPO’s brass with The Earl of Oxford’s March as well as two of our string players, Karolina Fraczak (violin) and Levi Andreassen (double bass). We will also provide an audience member the opportunity to conduct us! If you’re not familiar with The Radetsky March by Strauss, I highly recommend you listen and practice waving your arms as you just might be the one called upon to be our fearless leader.

So what you will hear first  is our brass playing The Earl of Oxford’s March. I will admit that I did not realize this was played at King Charles’ Coronation. In light of learning that, here is our participation in something grand. Following this will be YOUR chance to conduct us with The Radetsky March. I have put off playing Mozart for quite some time, so next will be Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Wrapping up this performance will be Bottesini’s Gran Duo!

Since the pandemic, we have provided some fun and unusual performances for our community. We have been proud to offer our performances for free. However, as a non-profit with limited funds, we have decided to start selling tickets (adults - $10; students - $5; children,12 and under - free).

We are also doing something different this time! We are offering a free concert to those who are seniors and to those who are neuro-diverse (individuals with developmental disorders, etc.) This performance will take place on August 23 at 6:30pm! If you are a person who struggles to sit still or quietly and don’t get to go to live performances for this reason, this is the performance for you! We welcome you and hope you enjoy the live music we want to share!

See you soon!

Warm regards,

Amy Andreassen
